
HP has launched two new laptops in India in their Pavilion and Omen gaming series. The two new laptops, HP Pavilion 15 and HP Omen 15 are targeted towards two different demographics. The HP Pavilion 15 is launched targeted the mainstream audience who need a functional and powerful laptop for work and business purposes. The HP Omen 15, on the other hand, is launched for gamers who are looking for a laptop to satiate their gaming needs on the go.
The HP Pavilion 15 starts at Rs. 74,990 while the HP Omen 15 starts at Rs. 1,05,990. You will be able to buy these laptops online as well as offline HP partners.
HP Omen Gaming Accessories
HP has also launched Omen gaming accessories which include the HP Sequencer keyboard that comes at a price tag of Rs. 10,999 and the HP Reactor mouse comes at a price of Rs. 3499. HP also launched the HP Transceptor backpack for the price of Rs. 11,999. These accessories are targeted towards gamers and will start selling in August 2018.
HP also launched the Omen by HP Mouse 600 and Mouse 800 which will be available immediately for a price of Rs. 4,999 and Rs. 6,999. HP has finally entered the India gaming accessories market with the launch of these products.
HP Pavilion 15
The HP Pavilion 15 has a 15.6-inch full HD 1080p IPS display. The display comes with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and the brightness can go up to 220 nits. The pixel density of the screen is 144ppi which is OK for a 15.6 inch laptop at the price.
Under the hood, HP Pavilion 15 is powered by an Intel 8th Gen Core i5-8300H and Core i7-8750H. You can choose from the two processor options. On the GPU side, there’s an Intel integrated graphics processor in the base unit but you can choose to have a 4GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti for better graphics performance.
The HP Pavilion 15 comes with a base amount of RAM of 8GB which is a DDR4 RAM with a frequency of 2666MHz. For storage, you get 1TB HDD that runs at 7200RPM. You can choose to have a 128GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD in the top models of the same laptop.
You have plenty of useful ports here on the laptop which include 1 USB 3.1 Type-C, 1 USB 3.1 Type-A, 1 3.5 mm audio jack along with HDMI 2.0 and an ethernet port.
The laptop weighs 2.2KG and comes in a dimension of 366×256.5×25.4mm. You have a battery of 52.5Wh and the laptop supports fast charging as well.
HP Omen 15
The HP Omen 15 is aimed towards gamers and comes with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H processor with a base frequency of 2.2GHz but it can boost up to 4.1GHz using Intel Turbo Boost.
The Omen 15 has a better screen. It has a 15.6-inch UHD IPS display that can get bright up to 300 nits. The display on the HP Omen 15 has a refresh rate of 144Hz which is perfect for gaming.
The graphics on the base model of the HP Omen 15 are handled by NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti. You can also choose to have NVIDIA GTX 1060 or a GTX 1070 on your Omen 15. You can choose from RAM options of 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB and for storage, you get 1TB HDD which runs at 7200RPM along with a 128GB PCIe NVMe SSD.
The HP Omen 15 has three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one USB 3.1 Type-C, one Mini DisplayPort, one headphone jack, an RJ-45 port, and one HDMI v2.0 port so you have plenty of connectivity options including Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and MU-MIMO. The HP Omen 15 is Miracast certified so you can use Miracast to cast your display on a bigger screen. Talking about dimensions, the HP Omen 15 measures 359.9×262.9×24.9mm and weighs 2.38kg.
