Design and Build

The iQOO 3 5G comes with a rubber matte finish on the back and looks quite premium. The device comes with a Gorilla Glass 6 back. This smartphone comes in three colours namely Tornado Black, Volcano Orange and Quantum Silver. All of them look absolutely elegant and premium as well. To the front, we can find a 6.44-inch screen which is protected by a Schott Xensation glass as they call it. On the top, we can find a punch hole for front-facing camera on this device. The device is 9.2 mm thick and weighs around 214 grams.

The phone does not state any mention of IP protection, so we would assume that it’s not water-resistant. Anyways, the back of the smartphone is curved which contributes to the overall design and aesthetics of this premium Android Smartphone.  The device also houses an optical in-display fingerprint sensor. All in all, the device is built quite solid and does have a premium look and feel to it.

Display and Unlock

The IQOO 3 comes with a 6.44 inch SUPER AMOLED display which outputs a lot of punchy colours. This display comes with a whopping 1200 nits brightness which is actually quite bright. So if you are someone who uses your device outside a lot, then the chances are that you’ll absolutely love this device. Also, this is a 60Hz display which really outperforms some of the devices with 120Hz display in the markets in terms of overall visual experience. You’ll love playing games like PUBG on this device thanks to the 60hz display and powerful processor.

Regarding the unlock, with IQOO3, you get an optical in-display fingerprint sensor which is blazingly ultra fast. There are a lot of animations in the IQOO UI for fingerprint sensors too. If you are someone who is used to unlocking your device with your face, then you can also use Face unlock of the IQOO 3 which is also pretty fast. With that being said, let us now take a look at the Performance and Software of the IQOO 3.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the IQOO 3 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. Now, the device comes in two different variants, the 5G and the 4G. So if you are someone who thinks that your place is not yet ready for a 5G connection, then you can also go with a 4G variant. Now, this Snapdragon 865 chip is coupled up with DDR5 12 GB of RAM which is insane. You need not worry about your phone slowing down at all. We also get 256 GB of Storage with the 5G variant of the device.

With the above setup, the IQOO 3 can handle any heavy game which you throw at it with ease. Regarding the GPU, we have an Adreno 650 GPU in the IQOO 3. During our testing, we tried playing a lot of heavy title games like PUBG on the device and it doesn’t seem to lag at all. Talking about gaming, the software on the IQOO 3  comes with IQOO OS based on Android 10 which does allow the users to optimize the gaming performance on their device even further.

Camera and Battery

Coming to the cameras, the IQOO 3 comes with a quad-camera setup on the rear. This comprises of a 48-megapixel main camera sensor, a 13-megapixel telephoto lens with 10x zoom, a 13-megapixel super wide-angle lens and finally a 2-megapixel camera sensor for macro and bokeh shots. The rear camera does capture a lot of good photos in the outdoors. Even the ones taken under low light conditions turned out to be pretty decent.

To the front, on top, we have a punch hole front-facing camera which is a 16 megapixel f/2.0 lens embedded into the display. The shots taken via the front sensor were also pretty decent. The device has a massive 4,400 mAh battery which can be charged by a 55w fast charger that comes inside the box. This charger can charge the device from 0 to 100 in 50 minutes.

Final Verdict

To conclude this review, we can say that iQOO 3 is a pretty great device for the price. Not just this, we don’t think it would be wrong to say that the IQOO 3 is hands down one of the best smartphones which you can get in the market. If you are someone who prefers high performance, along with better display and great battery life, then the chances are that you will love this device.
