Lava re-enters smartphone arena with Lava Z1, Z2, Z4, Z6, and MyZ, pricing starts at 5,449 INR

After Micromax, another domestic smartphone vendor, Lava Mobiles, has staged a comeback with as many as five smartphones, including a customizable smartphone, all geared towards the hotly contested budget segment.

All the Lava mobiles are Made-in-India products with almost 60 percent components, including the batteries and chargers made in the home country.

The smartphones will be available via Amazon India, Lava e-store, and offline channels across India upon their availability.

Lava Z1

The Lava Z1 comes with a 5-inch display shielded by Gorilla Glass 3. Powering the phone is a MediaTek Helio A20 SoC alongside 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. A 5MP sensor sits at the back while another 5MP sensor serves as a selfie camera up front. The battery is of 3,100mAh capacity.

The Lava Z1 bears a price tag of INR5,449. The sale will commence on January 26.

Lava Z2

The Lava Z2 flaunts a bigger 6.5-inch LCD notched display with HD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3 protection. At its heart, there is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

The smartphone is equipped with a dual-rear camera setup consisting of a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor, while the front gets an 8MP sensor. A 5,000mAh battery keeps the phone ticking, supported by a 10W fast charging. On the software side of things, it boots Android 10.

The Lava Z2 is priced at INR6,999 with the date of sale fixed for January 11.

Lava Z4

The Lava Z4’s LCD screen spans 6.5-inch diagonally and has HD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and the same Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone is underpinned by a MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, which is mated to 4GB RAM and 64GB default storage.

The back cameras are three in numbers: 13MP, 5MP, and 2MP. At the same time, a 16MP selfie camera graces the front. The phone has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, besides packing a 5,000mAh battery. The smartphone runs Android 10.

It is priced at INR8,999 and slated to go on sale starting January 11.

Lava Z6

The Lava Z6 is laced with a 6.5-inch HD+ display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. An octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage (expandable) provides the power.

The Lava Z6 shares the same cameras as the Lava Z4. It also has a similar fingerprint scanner placed on the rear side and the same 5,000mAh battery to keep the juice flowing.

The Lava Z6 will hit the shelves on January 11, priced at INR9,999.

Lava MyZ

The Lava MyZ, on the other hand, is a customizable phone with the options to choose from 2GB RAM to 6GB RAM, 32GB to 128GB storage, and dual or triple rear cameras as well as 8MP and 16MP selfie cameras. The buyers will also have the options to choose between Red and Blue paint jobs.

Besides these customizable options, the Lava MyZ will have a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen, MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, Android 10, 5,000mAh battery, and USB Type-C port, as standard.

The Lava MyZ phone will be priced, ranging from INR6,999 to INR10,500, depending upon the combinations of specs chosen by the customers. It will be available through a Made-to-Order model, which will go live on the Lave e-store.
