OPPO Reno 2 along with Reno 2Z and Reno 2F launched with 48MP quad-rear camera

The second generation of OPPO Reno series has finally been launched following many rounds of rumors and speculations. As was announced earlier, the OPPO Reno 2 series has seen the daylight first in India before it moves to any other markets.

The newly launched Reno series includes the OPPO Reno 2 along with two pared-down versions, the OPPO Reno 2Z and Reno 2F. The Reno series is known for its camera and to that effect all three Reno 2 series smartphones come with the quad-rear-camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor. Besides that, the devices have 8GB RAM and up to 20x digital zoom capability.

OPPO Reno 2

Starting with the star of the show, the OPPO Reno 2 features a 6.55-inch dynamic AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution, 93.1% screen-to-body-ratio, and Gorilla Glass 6 protection. There is an embedded in-display fingerprint scanner on the front. The back sports 3D curved Gorilla Glass 5 with rounded corners.

Pumping power from under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G octa-core SoC same as the one powering the premium Samsung Galaxy A80. The SoC performs in alliance with 8GB RAM and 256GB default storage.

About optics, the OPPO Reno 2 mounts four sensors on the back comprising a 48MP main sensor, 13MP telephoto sensor, 8MP ultra-wind-angle sensor, and 2MP depth sensor. The telephoto sensor is capable of 5x hybrid zoom and 20x digital zoom. The camera unit also features portrait mode, Ultra Macro mode, and OIS to prevent the undulation of videos at 4K resolution.

The Sharkfin-style pop-up camera module from the OPPO Reno is carried over to the Reno 2 as well. This eye-catching Sharkfin encloses a 16MP selfie shooter.

The smartphone derives fuel from a 4,000mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging support over USB Type-C port. On the software side of things, the Reno 2 runs Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.1 slapped on top.

OPPO Reno 2Z and Reno 2F

Talking about the Reno 2Z and Reno 2F, both the smartphones pack a slightly smaller 6.53-inch full HD+ AMOLED display. They come with the quad-rear-camera setup, 8GB RAM, 4,000mAh battery, and ColorOS 6.1 based on Android 9 Pie.

However, in the camera setup, the 13MP telephoto sensor is replaced with a 2MP mono sensor. Instead of Shark-fin style selfie camera the Reno 2Z and 2F come with a standard pop-up selfie camera hiding the same 16MP shooter inside.

Both the Reno 2Z and Reno 2F include MediaTek processors- Helio P90 with 256GB internal storage and Helio P70 with 128GB internal storage, respectively.
