Last few weeks were abound with rumors relating to OPPO Reno smartphone series. And now putting all rumors to rest, Reno, OPPO’s newly-minted subsidiary brand, has launched its first pair of smartphones dubbed as “OPPO Reno Standard” and “OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition” in China. The purported global launch of both the devices is, however, slated for April 24 in Zurich, Switzerland.

The OPPO 10x Zoom Edition is the high-end variant which boasts rear-mounted triple cameras with a telephoto lens capable of 10x hybrid optical zoom. Besides this, the variant is also powered by a powerful Snapdragon 855 SoC as differentiation from the Reno Standard version.

In terms of similarities, both the handsets include a panoramic AMOLED full-view notch less display, HD+ resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, Gorilla Glass 6 protection, much-talked-about side-swing selfie camera module, in-display fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm audio jack, and Color OS 6 based on Android Pie.

Talking about the specs, the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition wraps a 6.65-inch AMOLED notch less display on the front with HDR 10+ support. Pumping power from under the hood is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage.

In the camera department, the device is tacked on with triple cameras at the back, comprising a 48MP primary Sony IMX586 sensor, an 8MP secondary 120-degree ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 13MP tertiary sensor with telephoto lens equipped with 10x lossless optical zoom technology. The front is stacked with a 16MP front-facing selfie shooter.

The powerful 10x Zoom Edition hinges on a hefty 4,065mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging support.

The OPPO Reno Standard, on the other hand, sports a 6.4-inch AMOLED notch less display. On the inside, the Standard version employs a Snapdragon 710 SoC paired with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage.
