Tecno Spark 5 with quad-rear camera and 5,000mAh battery launched in India for 7,999 INR
Tecno Mobile, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based Transsion Holdings has unveiled a new budget smartphone dubbed as the Tecno Spark 5 in India. The new phone is a successor to the Tecno Spark 4 from last year.
The Tecno Spark 5 comes with basic hardware under the hood but feature-wise it is quite something as it includes a notch display, quad-rear camera setup, and a big 5,000mAh battery- all of it at a price of just INR7,999.
Available in Ice Jadeite and Spark Orange color options the Tecno Spark 5 will go on sale on Amazon India starting May 22. Offline sale via select retailers across the country will, however, commence on May 25. Apart from onetime screen replacement guarantee the Tecno Spark 5 comes with one month extra (i.e 12+1 months) warranty period.
The Tecno Spark 5 is all plastic phone with a punch-hole cut out on the top left of the IPS LCD display that spans a massive 6.6-inch diagonally. The Dot-in Display as the company calls it has HD+ (720×1600) resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio.

The notch gives a place to an 8MP selfie camera with dual-LED flash equipped with AI Beauty, AR mode, and HDR mode. On the rear, there are four sensors lined vertically inside a rectangular module on the top-left corner. Three rear camera array includes a 13MP f/1.8 primary sensor, a 2MP macro sensor, another 2MP depth sensor, and an AI shooter. The camera unit at the back is helped by quad-LED flash and can shoot 1080p videos at 30 fps.
Under the hood, as mentioned earlier there is nothing to be excited about. The phone uses an old MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core SoC that is teamed with a paltry 2GB RAM as well as 32GB default storage. The dual SIM phone, however, has a dedicated microSD card slot using which one can expand the storage to up to 256GB.
Tecno Spark 5 runs HiOS 6.1 with Android 10 as the base while for juice it stuffs a massive 5,000mAh battery inside. The biometrics is handled by a physical fingerprint scanner mounted on the back. At the bottom, the phone has micro USB 2.0 port flanked by a single firing speaker and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
In terms of connectivity options, the Tecno Spark 5 supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, and FM Radio. It measures 164.7×76.3×8.8mm in dimension.
