Vivo Y50 with 8GB RAM,Quad-rear cameras, and 5,000mAh battery launched for 17,990 INR

Last month Vivo launched the Vivo V19 (review) in India and today the Chinese marquee has dropped a new smartphone dubbed as the Vivo Y50 in the country belonging to the mid-range segment. The smartphone comes with quad-rear cameras, punch-hole display with high screen-to-body ratio, and a large battery.
The Y50 comes in only one variant with 8GB RAM+128GB storage configuration while in terms of color the smartphone features Blue and Pearl White color options. The smartphone is priced at INR17,990 with the sale commencing from June 10 via both online and offline channels.
Talking about the specifications, the Vivo Y50 features a 6.53-inch FHD+ (1080×2340) LCD display with a hole-punch design, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 90.7% screen-to-body ratio with slim bezels all around. The phone has a plastic back as well as a plastic frame.
The Vivo Y50 is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage with dedicated microSD card slot for expansion of storage. The smartphone runs Android 10 with FuntouchOS 10 laid on top.
Regarding the optics, the Vivo Y50 has a quad-camera setup at the back with all the four sensors placed vertically inside a rectangular module situated at the top-left corner. The setup includes a 13MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor with a 120-degree field of view, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor.
A 16MP selfie shooter resides inside the hole-punch cutout which is placed on the top-left corner of the display. Both the cameras on the front and the back can shoot 1080p videos.
For fuel, the Vivo Y50 has a massive 5,000mAh battery stacked inside the phone that charges at a maximum power of 15W over the USB Type-C port. The biometrics are taken care of by a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner along with the face unlock feature.
Amongst other things, the Vivo Y50 includes 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, and the regular 3.5mm headphone jack. The sensors include a gyroscope, proximity sensor, accelerometer, and an ambient light sensor.
