Vivo Y51A launched in India for 17,990 INR: SD 662 SoC, 8GB RAM, and 48MP triple camera

Vivo launched a new smartphone, the Vivo Y51A, in the Indian market today, targeting the budget mid-range segment. The new smartphone features the same specs as the Vivo Y51 except for the processor.
The Vivo Y51A comes with a Snapdragon 662 SoC instead of a slightly better Snapdragon 665 SoC on the Vivo Y51. Other salient aspects of the Vivo Y51A include a Full HD+ display, a bigger battery with fast charging tech, and a capable triple-rear-camera setup.
The Vivo Y51A, like the Y51, is launched in one variant with an 8GB RAM+128GB storage configuration. The smartphone is priced at INR17,990 with a cashback worth of INR1,000 promised on purchase through HDFC credit card.
The smartphone will go on sale via all the major online and offline channels. Customers can choose from Titanium Sapphire and Crystal Symphony color options.
Getting into details, the Vivo 51A is built around a 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen that pushes full HD+ (1080×2408) resolution and comes in a 21:9 aspect ratio.
The smartphone boots Android 11 with FuntouchOS 11 laid on top. An octa-core Snapdragon 662 SoC mated to Adreno 610 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage ensures power for the phone. The Vivo 51A comes with the option of expandable memory for up to 1TB via a dedicated microSD card slot.
The camera setup at the back remains a triple-lens affair with a 48MP primary sensor leading the pack. The other two rear sensors include an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro lens. All the rear sensors alongside an LED flash are housed in an eye-catching vertically placed rectangular module at the top-left corner.
For selfies and video chatting purposes, the Vivo Y51A tacks on a 16MP front-facing camera inside the water drop-like notch. The camera is laced with all sorts of modern photo enhancing features.
There is a large 5,000mAh battery inside, which keeps enough juice to last for more than a day on a single charge. The battery charges fast at the rate of 18W, filing 70 percent in 67 minutes as advertised.
The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm headphone jack. A fingerprint sensor takes care of biometrics mounted on the side of the phone.
